Choícé Bröadcästs.

On the BBC (British Broadcasting Corporation), the oddly titled ‘How to be Bohemian‘ tells of the Bloomsbury Set and the Johns (Augustus and Gwen) and others. It’s jolly interesting but you may never look at Gill Sans the same way.

Meanwhile on public radio, Ira Glass’s comfortingly disembodied voice tell us about…Fiascos!! Including a wonderful play which could be added to our magpie repertoire.

“One ingredient of many Fiascos is that great, massive, heart wrenching chaos and failure are more likely to occur when great ambition has come into play.”

You can put it on while you bake an elaborate layered rainbow cake:

And from You Tube; Johnathon Messe. He’s an artist, Louisiana Channel (who are great) interviewed him. There’s a swastika I’m afraid. It’s riding a bejewelled dog-horse-creature. The video is called ‘In Art You Have To Go Too Far’.

“I hate these art students now who only want so small things, who want a comfortable life and, uh, I mean I’m forty-one now and I behave like a twelve year old”.

And here is Misaki Kawai who paints bonkers pictures and makes me want to live in a loft in New York covered in paint even more than I did already. She paints Koalas playing football.

” A lot of artists is too serious about making art, but I think it doesn’t have to be that serious. Just more fun, to make fun”.
